Where to Buy Cakes in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan

If you're looking to celebrate a special occasion and in need of buying a cake or ordering a custom cake, continue reading as I share where you can purchase these.

There are various bakeries and shops around Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan that you can visit to purchase whole cakes. I lived in Bishkek for a year and a half and had my fair share of celebrating birthdays, anniversaries, weddings, and other special events. And since I ordered cakes from various shops and vendors, I'm excited to share where you can buy or order custom cakes in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan.

1. Kulikov Bakery

Kulikov Bakery is one of the most renowned bakery chains and corporations based in Kyrgyzstan, known for its delicious ready-made cakes and various baked goods. They even have stores across Kazakhstan, Russia, and even in Texas, United States.

The bakery offers various cakes, ranging from classic flavors like chocolate and vanilla to more unique options such as honey cake. My personal favorite is the coconut cake, which is moist, lightly sweet, and covered in coconut flakes. Kulikov Bakery is also a great store for ordering custom cakes, I have had friends order a cake for their weddings, birthdays, or any special occasions here. In addition to cakes, they offer an array of other items such as ice cream and baked goods like pastries, cookies, and bread.

It won't be hard to find a Kulikov Bakery in Bishkek, as there are locations spread around the capital city. Recently, they even opened a Kulikov Cafe where it's a sit-down restaurant where you can order various dishes like salads, sandwiches, and quick-eats. Also, you can find Kulikov cakes in grocery stores like Globus in the refrigerated section. It won't be hard to not notice their purple cake trays.

I mostly visited this location near my home to purchase Kulikov items.

2. Local Bakeries

There are tons of local bakeries in Bishkek, with all offering a variety of cakes, and pastries to cater to your tastes and preferences. Typically these local bakeries don't have ready-made cakes that you can purchase right away and take, you should go to Kulikov or the major grocery chains like Globus. However, if you are looking to order a custom cake, these are some local bakeries that I recommend and you can message them through WhatsApp to do a custom order.

I ordered custom cakes for birthdays and anniversaries and always had positive experiences. They are more expensive than the cakes you will purchase from the grocery stores, but I do like customizing the flavors and designs to my liking.

I've also seen the popularity of "bento cakes", small cakes that are as big as the hand and enough to feed one to two people. I've seen lot's of home bakers make and sell these from home and you can do a custom order through them and there are various designs that you can request.
